“Make the impossible possible.”
Just a glimpse of Cathy’s life experience is enough proof of the extraordinary qualities possessed by this Telstra Businesswoman Award Recipient*.
After completing a four-year apprenticeship as an electronics technician, Cathy started her first job within the legal profession as a receptionist at a law firm. Working within the firm inspired her to take her career a step further. Five years later, she received a University of Queensland Bachelor of Laws degree undertaken at the Charles Darwin University and was admitted to practise as a lawyer in 1985.
Driven by her passion about the rights of injured workers and ensuring access to justice for victims of crime, those injured as a result of medical negligence and workplace accidents, Cathy utilises her previous experience as a tradesperson in dealing with her clients’ cases. Her excellent and professional service has won her numerous referrals from Unions and many other public institutions.
Cathy offers a first interview free on worker’s compensation matters.
Work life aside, Cathy is an extremely active member of the Northern Territory Branch of the Australian Labor Party and has been elected a number of times as President of NTALP.
She is also active in a number of school and community groups.
Cathy understands how difficult it can be jumping through the hoops set up by insurers in worker’s compensation and personal injuries cases. She says “barriers are there to be overcome”
