Hieu Nguyen graduated from the Charles Darwin University with a double degree, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws. He completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through Charles Darwin University in mid 2006. Hieu was admitted to practice law in October 2006. He graduated with a Masters of Laws (Legal Practice) degree at the Australian National University in 2007.

Hieu has a passion in helping others. He gains satisfaction from helping his clients in matters ranging from neighbour fence disputes, commercial transactions, disputes with traders, employment issues, buying or selling a home and buying or selling commercial properties. 

With the guidance of Halfpennys directors, Richard Henschke and Cathy Spurr, Hieu’s practice includes immigration assistance, business transactions, leases, debt recovery, partnership deeds; and Personal Injuries Law which incorporates dog bites, assault and battery, motor vehicle accidents, food poisoning, pedestrian accident, premises liability, and wrongful death. He also has an interest in defamation law.

Hieu’s experience also includes the drafting of Wills, applications for Probate and Letters of Administration, and the administration of deceased estates.

Hieu is  also fluent in the Vietnamese language.
