Liability & making a claim

Personal Negligence

If you have consulted a professional and you think that professional has incorrectly advised you, Cathy can advise you if the professional is liable to you and how to make a claim. Usually, the first step is to write to the other party to put the other party on notice that something has gone wrong, and they should notify their insurer. You should seek advice before taking any steps so that you can make an informed decision before making any formal allegations and so that you can proceed strategically.

If you are a professional and have received a complaint or are concerned about your liability, Cathy can advise you about any risks you should be aware of and including whether a trigger event has occurred such that you should put your insurer on notice.

If you think you need professional liability advice, please contact us to make a time to speak to Cathy. This is what you can expect when you contact us:

  1. We will treat any information that you give us as confidential

  2. We will ask you for some brief information so that we can conduct a conflict check

  3. We will let you know if there are any consultation fees that will apply for your first conference with Cathy

  4. We will schedule a time for you to speak with Cathy (telephone, Zoom, Microsoft TEAMS or in person appointments are available)
